I am experienced Bioinformatics Scientist with a proven track record in designing and implementing innovative computational workflows to support advanced research in genomics, precision medicine, and translational biology. Highly skilled in integrating and interpreting complex multi-omics datasets—including transcriptomics, genomics, and epigenomics—to generate biologically and clinically meaningful insights.

Experience

Bioinformatics Computational Genomic Specialist, (Clinical)

Guidehouse LLP, Contractor for NIAID

Designed and deployed robust WES/WGS pipelines for somatic and germline variant analysis in rare diseases. Performed bulk and single-cell RNA-seq analyses, including clustering, differential expression, and pathway enrichment. Integrated multi-omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics) to refine disease phenotyping and identify biomarkers. Developed a comprehensive mtDNA variant workflow with heteroplasmy estimation and clinical annotation. Automated pipelines using Snakemake and cloud infrastructure for scalable, high-throughput analysis. Collaborated with clinicians and researchers to deliver actionable insights for clinical genomics studies.

Feb 2023 - Present

Bioinformatics Scientist

Fate Therapeutics

Developed advanced bioinformatics workflows for CAR-T and NK cell immunotherapy programs, supporting target discovery and translational research. Built pipelines to identify tumor-specific antigens using single-cell and bulk RNA-seq, surfaceome data, and public datasets. Evaluated engineered cell therapy platforms through multi-dimensional analysis of transgene expression, persistence, and cytotoxicity. Generated disease-specific molecular signatures and applied ML for biomarker discovery and phenotype classification. Applied cutting-edge single-cell RNA-seq to study tumor heterogeneity, immune profiling, and treatment response.

Bioinformatics Postdoc/Research Scientist

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Investigated cisplatin sensitivity and resistance in testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) using integrative multi-omics approaches. Performed RNA-seq analysis to identify transcriptional signatures linked to chemotherapy response. Analyzed ChIP-seq and DNA methylation data to explore epigenetic regulation of drug resistance. Applied Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) to uncover dysregulated biological pathways. Conducted comparative analysis using public datasets (TCGA, GEO) to validate findings and identify biomarkers. Integrated genomic and epigenomic data to reveal regulatory mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets in TGCTs.

June 2018 - April 2022

Postdoctoral Research Scholar

Stanford University

Led high-throughput virtual screening of ~2 million compounds to identify inhibitors targeting bacterial antioxidant defenses for antimicrobial resistance applications. Collaborated with microbiologists and bioinformaticians on drug discovery projects focused on antibiotic sensitivity in microgravity environments, supporting NASA-linked infectious disease research.
